New Poll Shows Israelis Favor Trump Over Harris

In a recent poll, 66% of respondents expressed support for former President Donald Trump as their preferred candidate for the next U.S. president, with only 17% supporting Vice President Kamala Harris, while another 17% were undecided.

The report noted that President Joe Biden had garnered brief favor among the Israeli public last year, especially following his decisive support for Israel after the October 7, 2023 Hamas attacks.

However, that sentiment appears to have shifted, particularly as the Biden administration has more recently urged restraint on Israel’s actions.

Trump highlighted that Israel has often succeeded by taking a different approach than what the Biden-Harris administration has suggested.

His pro-Israel record, one of the strongest among U.S. presidents since Harry S. Truman recognized Israel’s statehood, includes the historic relocation of the U.S. embassy to Jerusalem and his recognition of Israeli sovereignty over the Golan Heights, where Israel even named a town in his honor.

While Trump’s support among Israeli citizens remains strong, his backing within the American Jewish community is lower, with many Jewish Americans prioritizing social issues, including abortion, where they tend to hold more liberal views.

This focus often shapes their political alignment, despite Trump’s firm stance on U.S.-Israel relations.
