America First Legal (AFL) has released new photos showing President Joe Biden meeting with Hunter Biden’s Chinese business associates, including an introduction to President Xi Jinping, during a 2013 trip to China. The images, obtained through AFL’s lawsuit against the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA), shed light on the connections between the Bidens and Chinese officials, despite previous efforts to withhold the photos until after the 2024 election.
In the newly released photos, Joe Biden, then Vice President, appears to introduce his son Hunter to key Chinese officials, including President Xi Jinping and Vice President Li Yuanchao. The images also show Biden meeting with Jonathan Li, CEO of Hunter’s business firm BHR Partners, and Ming Xue, the firm’s Director and Managing Partner.
AFL has accused Biden’s lawyers of delaying the release of these records, similar to previous efforts to hold back critical documents ahead of the election. According to AFL, the release was originally scheduled for October 23, 2024, but was postponed to avoid scrutiny during the campaign.
The 2013 Beijing visit occurred just days before Hunter Biden received a 10% stake in BHR Partners, a venture linked to the Bank of China, which later invested $1.2 billion in a deal involving Hunter’s firm, Rosemont Seneca. Critics argue that the timing of the visit and the subsequent business deals raise concerns about possible conflicts of interest and abuse of power.
This revelation adds to growing scrutiny over the Bidens’ ties to foreign governments, particularly China, and raises further questions about the legitimacy of Hunter Biden’s business dealings during his father’s vice presidency.
