New Hampshire Man Charged for Threatening to Kill Rep. Matt Gaetz

A 23-year-old man attending Keene State College in New Hampshire has been charged for “transmitting in interstate commerce a threat to injure the person of another,” threatening to kill a member of the United States House of Representatives, according to a press release from the Department of Justice.

Allan Poller is facing charges of transmitting a threat to injure the person of another in interstate commerce.

Poller made an initial appearance in federal court in Concord on April 3, 2023, at 3:00 p.m.

According to the press release, Poller called the congressional office in Washington DC on March 29, 2023, at approximately 12:20 a.m. and left a voicemail, threatening to kill the congressman.

The targeted congressman is Republican Rep. Matt Gaetz of Florida.

“Hi, my name is Allan Poller, A-L-L-A-N P-O-L-L-E-R, phone number []8931. And I just want to let you know, Representative [Name], if you keep on coming for the gays, we’re gonna strike back and I guarantee you, you do not want to fuck with us. We will kill you if that’s what it takes. I will take a bullet to your fucking head if you fuck with my rights anymore. And then if you want to keep going down that path, you know who’s next,” Poller said in the voicemail.

The charge carries a sentence of up to five years in prison, up to three years of supervised release, and a fine of up to $250,000.

The sentence will be determined by a federal district court judge based on the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and statutes that govern the determination of a sentence in a criminal case.
