New Hampshire Girls Soccer Team Forfeits Game Against Transgender Opponent

In a growing movement to preserve fairness in women’s sports, more female athletes are taking a stand against competing with transgender athletes who were born male. A high school girls’ soccer team in New Hampshire, Bishop Brady High School, chose to forfeit their scheduled match against Kearsarge High School rather than face a transgender opponent.

The decision highlights the ongoing debate over the inclusion of biological males in female sports.

This issue has become increasingly prominent in New Hampshire. Last month, parents were banned from girls’ soccer matches after protesting the inclusion of a biological male on another school’s team by distributing pink armbands with “XX” stitched on them, symbolizing biological females.

These forfeitures reflect a larger national trend. The University of Nevada, Reno’s women’s volleyball team recently joined four other schools in refusing to compete against San Jose State’s team, which includes transgender player Blaire Fleming.

In a statement to OutKick, the Nevada team asserted, “We demand that our right to safety and fair competition on the court be upheld. We refuse to participate in any match that advances injustice against female athletes.”

Many female athletes are left with no choice but to forfeit, as those in power have yet to enact rules that protect the integrity of women’s sports. Their stand for fairness and safety continues to resonate across the nation.
