Rep. Brandon Gill (R-TX) introduced a bill to place President Donald Trump on the $100 bill.
“President Trump could be enjoying his golden years golfing and spending time with his family. Instead, he took a bullet for this country and is now working overtime to secure our border, fix our uneven trade relationship with the rest of the world, make America energy independent again, and put America first by ending useless foreign aid,” Gill said in a statement. “There has been no one who has done more to bring America into the golden age than President Trump. Featuring him on the $100 bill is a small way to honor all he will accomplish these next four years.”
The legislation calls for the Secretary of Treasury to release a design of the $100 bill featuring Trump no later than December 31, 2026. The bill calls for all $100 bills after December 31, 2028, to feature the president’s image.
Last week, Rep. Joe Wilson (R-SC) introduced a bill to print Trump on a new $250 bill. The legislation directs the Bureau of Printing and Engraving to design and print the bill and creates an exemption to a policy prohibiting living figures from appearing on currency for living U.S. presidents.
“Bidenflation has destroyed the economy, forcing American families to carry more cash. President Trump is working tirelessly to fight inflation and help American families,” Wilson said. “This achievement is deserving of currency recognition, which is why I am grateful to introduce this legislation. The most valuable bill for the most valuable President!”
The bill is co-sponsored by Reps. Diana Harshbarger (R-TN), Ralph Norman (R-SC), and Darrell Issa (R-CA).
