Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu called out New York City Mayor Zohran Mamdani, pledging to “tell the truth” about him during his address to the United Nations General Assembly.
“Shame on you, Mr. Mamdani,” Netanyahu said in a video. “Shame on you for supporting the Hamas terrorist monsters who butchered our people. Shame on you for inciting riots against New York Jews. I’m coming to the UN. I’m going to tell the truth about our heroic soldiers, and I’ve got to tell the truth about you.”
Mamdani responded to Netanyahu’s remarks during a press conference. “We all know that what the prime minister has said in that video is not true,” he said.
“What we do know to actually be the truth when it comes to the prime minister is that he is the subject of an International Criminal Court arrest warrant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity. And as the prime minister, he is the architect of a horrific genocide against Palestinians. And just a few days ago, killed an 11-year-old boy in what is deemed to be a safe zone in Gaza.”
The Israeli prime minister told Fox News in July that he would be traveling to New York, American Faith reported. “I’m going to speak the truth in front of this hate-spewing elected official who’s pitting one group of New Yorkers against the others. He’s turning them against New York Jews.”
“I mean, what are we, in the 1930s? What is this, you know? So much hate, so many lies,” he said.
Mamdani previously said that he believes Netanyahu is a “war criminal” who “belongs in The Hague.”
“I believe that Prime Minister Netanyahu belongs in The Hague,” he told The New York Times. “He’s a war criminal who has been charged by the International Criminal Court, and what you will find is that is an opinion that is held by many, purely because of what his actions have wrought over these past many years.”
