Navy Urges Americans To Be An ‘Ally’ To The Transgender Community

The Naval Sea Systems Command published an article urging Americans to be an “ally” of transgender people.

“Even if you are not a part of the trans community, a great way to celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility is being an ally,” a press release from the command center read. “There is no one way to be a ‘perfect’ ally. The transgender community is diverse and complex, coming from every region of the world, from every racial and ethnic background, and from every faith community.”

The press release goes on to claim that gender was “assigned at birth” and says that “some state legislatures are advancing bills that target transgender people and limit local protections.”

From The Daily Wire:

Over at the Department for Health and Human Services, Assistant Secretary for Health Rachel Levine, a man who identifies as a woman, announced in a Twitter video that the department would be flying the transgender flag on Friday over its building in Washington, D.C.

“For the second year in a row, the transgender flag is flying above our department in Washington, D.C. And this is an affirmation of the administration’s support for the transgender community and across the nation, as well as our support for evidence-based gender-affirming care,” Levine said in a video.

In another statement, Levine said that more “progress” needed to be made for minorities, immigrants, and young people who identify as transgender.
