More Migrants Dropped Off Near Kamala Harris’ Washington D.C. Home

On Christmas Eve, three buses carrying migrants from Texas arrived in Washington D.C.

One of the buses dropped off its passengers near the official residence of the Vice President, Kamala Harris.

The migrants were then assisted by the Migrant Solidarity Mutual Aid Network and taken to a local church.

This is not the first time that Texas Governor, Greg Abbott, has transported migrants to Washington D.C. In April, he began sending migrants from border cities to the nation’s capital in an effort to put pressure on the Biden administration to take action on immigration enforcement and border security.

This practice has faced widespread criticism.

In a letter to President Biden on Tuesday, Governor Abbott cited freezing temperatures in cities such as El Paso as his reason for transporting the migrants, as migrant housing facilities were already at capacity and had been forced to release people onto the streets.

Abbott wrote, “Your policies will leave many people in the bitter, dangerous cold as a polar vortex moves into Texas. Texas has borne a lopsided burden caused by your open border policies.”

The Republican Governor also called the current border crisis a “catastrophe” that was solely the responsibility of President Biden.

Gov. Abbott stated, “This terrible crisis for border communities in Texas is a catastrophe of your own making. The need to address this crisis is not the job of border states like Texas. Instead, the U.S. Constitution dictates that it is your job, Mr. President, to defend the borders of our country, regulate our nation’s immigration, and manage those who seek refuge here.”
