Moj Mahdara Tears Into Democrats Over Iran

Moj Mahdara, co-founder of actress Gwyneth Paltrow’s investment company Kinship Ventures, criticized Democrats for failing to support President Donald Trump’s strikes against high-ranking officials of the Islamic Republic of Iran, urging her party to move past partisan grievances and focus on national security.

During a Saturday appearance on CNN, Mahdara argued that Democrats need to look beyond their dislike of Trump and recognize what she described as the broader geopolitical stakes.

“I think that it is imperative for the Democratic Party to wake up and get past their dislike of Donald Trump — President Trump — and their feelings of international conflicts going on,” Mahdara said. “This is about national security. This is about what is possible in the Middle East. This is about being a good partner to the Gulf states and what their aspirations are.”

Mahdara linked the situation in Iran to other global conflicts, including Venezuela, China, and Ukraine. She pointed out that a significant portion of Iran’s oil production flows to China despite sanctions and suggested that weakening Iran’s regime could have ripple effects beyond the Middle East.

“You want to support the people of Ukraine? You want to end that war? There is no getting around dismembering this Islamic Republic,” she said, describing the objective as essential rather than optional.

Mahdara maintained that dismantling the regime would trigger broader geopolitical change. “When you dismember and decapitate this regime, you are going to see a change in the Middle East, in Venezuela, in China, in Ukraine,” she said.

Calling the moment historic, she compared it to the fall of the Berlin Wall and the end of the Soviet Union, characterizing it as a transformational opportunity for global security.

Mahdara concluded by expressing frustration with her own party. “I am a Democrat. I have been a huge Democrat,” she said. “I am incredibly disappointed with my Party. I do not see myself in them in this moment.”
