Missouri Sues Planned Parenthood for Trafficking Teens to Obtain Secret Abortions

Missouri’s attorney general, Andrew Bailey, announced that he is suing Planned Parenthood after discovering the abortion provider is “trafficking minors out of state to obtain abortions without parental consent.”

The lawsuit comes after a Project Veritas investigation revealed Planned Parenthood employees aid in the transportation of teenagers across state lines to have abortions.

In a December video from the investigation group, a Planned Parenthood managing director said, “We don’t do them [abortions] here. yeah, we don’t do them in Missouri. It’s illegal. But we do have, I can give you a packet of the two locations that do it in Kansas.”

The managing director explained that “people will come pick them [the minors] up. It doesn’t matter if the school agrees or not. We say that she was at the doctor. And we can cut off our letterhead so it doesn’t even say where she was.”

“Today, I am proud to announce that the state of Missouri is moving forward with a lawsuit to permanently drive Planned Parenthood from the state of Missouri,” Bailey said.

“This lawsuit is a direct result of the investigation conducted by Project Veritas in November of 2023 that uncovered an agent of a Planned Parenthood clinic in Kansas City, brazenly committed to past, present, and future violations of this state’s laws regarding proper parental consent notification, a conspiracy to traffic women out of state for abortions, and a conspiracy to conceal the sexual exploitation of children.”

“What is contained in the investigative video produced by Project Veritas is deplorable,” Bailey’s statement continued. “Planned Parenthood by state statute is a mandatory reporter for any sexual offenses against children. And yet in the video, an agent of Planned Parenthood is committed to concealing the fact that a 13-year-old who cannot legally consent to sexual conduct has experienced sexual abuse. This should disgust anyone concerned about the health and safety of women and children in the state of Missouri.”

“Missouri law prohibits elective abortion, but Missouri law also forbids any person to ‘intentionally cause, aid, or assist a minor to obtain an abortion without [parental] consent’ or informed consent, even if the abortion occurs in another ‘state or place,’” the lawsuit says. “Yet that is exactly what video evidence shows Planned Parenthood is doing. Violating the ‘deeply rooted’ right of parents and the laws of Missouri, Planned Parenthood is inducing minors into making life-changing—and life-ending—decisions without parental consent.”

“Missouri law expressly authorizes this Court to enter injunctive relief to block this conduct. The Court should speedily enter an injunction.”

Attorney General Baily announced the lawsuit on X, writing, Today, I am filing suit against Planned Parenthood for trafficking minors out of state to obtain abortions without parental consent. This is the beginning of the end for Planned Parenthood in the State of Missouri.”
