American Faith founder Phil Hotsenpiller appeared on The Charlie Kirk show to discuss his new book, Midnight in America.
The book discusses the state of the American church through the lens of the biblical prophetic clock.
“There are actually predictive things that we can look at that were written 2,500 years ago that are being fulfilled today,” Hotsenpiller told Kirk.
“Jesus said in Matthew 24 that nation would rise against nation, kingdom against kingdom, and the first time that happened was World War I,” he said, adding, “Then we see the clock really begin to tick with Israel becoming a nation.”
While the American church faces a period of darkness, there remains a bright hope for the future through the actions of Christians.
“We need to do more than pray,” Hotsenpiller explained. “Engage as well. You need to find ways to be engaged in your community, find ways to lift up your voice and be heard wherever you are.”
If Christians engage in the culture civically, exercising their right to vote, the nation will experience a radical change, Hotsenpiller noted.
“In California alone, if we could just get the Christians to vote … this state would turn into a red state,” he said, explaining that the church’s complacency is “tragic.”
Hotsenpiller added that courage is the foundation of bold faith.
“The most essential character trait according to Churchill was courage,” he said. “Everything else is built on it, and the Bible is the most political book on planet Earth.”
“Every single key individual in the Bible was confronting a regime that was anti-God,” Hotsenpiller stated, listing ancient rulers such as Nimrod, Pharoah, Nebuchadnezzar, and the Caesars of Rome. “If you can’t get government right, you can’t freely spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.”
“We need leaders to stand up and be strong, be heard, and quit cowering against all kinds of different shadows and mirrors.”
Midnight in America “equips readers with the knowledge and wisdom needed to thrive in difficult times and embrace an unwavering hope that can withstand any adversity,” according to the book’s synopsis.
Readers will learn how “to stand firm in the face of persecution,” reminding them that “hope is not just an abstract concept—it’s a person, who can transform lives and unleash the power within them.”
Midnight in America serves as a wake-up call for readers to reawaken their faith, reclaim their purpose, and reenergize their Christian mission.
As the book promises, readers will “confront their challenges, embrace their calling, and prepare for the imminent return of Christ.”
