Former First Lady Melania Trump said she is worried about her husband’s safety as the election comes closer this November.
“I think, you know, when they call him, he’s a threat to democracy, let’s ask ourselves who is really a threat to democracy,” Melania said. “They are ongoing with lawfare against the former president, as well as, you know, trying to get him off of the voting ballots and trying to silence him.”
“So, yes, of course, I was always afraid of what can happen and that they continue with that kind of language that is just toxic – it’s a toxic, toxic atmosphere.”
Earlier last month, Melania called her husband’s survival of two assassination attempts a “miracle,” noting that a “divine power” saved his life.
“I think both of the events, they were really miracles,” Melania said during a “Fox & Friends” interview. “If you really think about it, July 13 was a miracle. Like that much and he could not be with us … I think something was watching over him. I think, it’s almost like the country really needs him.”
Speaking about the first assassination attempt in Butler, Pennsylvania, Melania said, “I ran to the TV, and I find it, and I watched it was only a few minutes behind, and something, I guess, look over me, so I didn’t really see live, but maybe, you know, three minutes, few minutes later. But when I saw it, I, you know, it was only nobody really knew yet, right? Because when you see him on the floor, and you don’t know, you don’t know what really happened.”
When the second attempt occurred, the former first lady was in New York.
Discussing the media’s reaction to the assassination attempts, Melania said, “It’s interesting how quiet everything became all over the mainstream media. There were a few days they were reporting about July 13 event, and everything then became quiet. So I had a lot of questions, what’s going on? This is not normal.”
