Matt Walsh to Speak Outside SCOTUS as Justices Hear Major Case on Transgender Procedures for Minors

Daily Wire commentator Matt Walsh will address a rally outside the U.S. Supreme Court on Wednesday, December 4, as the justices hear oral arguments in United States v. Jonathan Skrmetti. The case centers on Tennessee’s law banning gender transition procedures for minors, which Walsh describes as a pivotal moment in the fight to protect children.

Walsh will speak at an event organized by Do No Harm, an advocacy group opposing radical gender ideology. His remarks will coincide with the Court’s examination of the Tennessee law, which prohibits puberty blockers, hormone therapies, and gender-related surgeries for anyone under 18. Enacted in 2023, the law has been challenged by the Biden Administration, which argues it violates constitutional rights.

In 2022, Walsh’s investigation into gender transition practices at Vanderbilt University Medical Center sparked legislative action in Tennessee, culminating in Senate Bill 1, the law at the center of this case. Walsh has consistently criticized the gender ideology movement, stating, “This is the culmination of our fight against the barbarism of child sex-changes.”

Joining Walsh at the rally will be lawmakers, detransitioners like Chloe Cole, and medical professionals opposed to transgender procedures for minors. Alliance Defending Freedom and Do No Harm will also host a press conference featuring the Tennessee lawmakers responsible for Senate Bill 1.

On the opposing side, groups such as the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) and Human Rights Campaign (HRC) are organizing protests. The HRC has labeled the law a violation of rights and describes transgender medical interventions as “lifesaving” and “medically necessary.”

The Supreme Court’s decision could have sweeping implications for similar laws across the nation. Advocates on both sides view this case as a defining moment in the legal and cultural battles surrounding gender ideology and the protection of minors.
