Maryland Town to Pay $20K to Incoming Residents

Cumberland, Maryland is making an offer to attract more residents to move in.

Through a new program, Cumberland is offering up to $20,000 to those willing to relocate to the city.

“The package, offering up to $20,000, is comprised of $10,000 in relocation cash, PLUS up to $10,000 dollar-for-dollar match, for approved renovations on an existing home, OR for a down payment on a newly constructed home within City limits,” the town website advertises.

“Cumberland’s history is built around a location in close proximity to Pittsburgh, D.C., and Baltimore.”

The town is located on the Potomac River.
