The congresswoman claims Kimmel openly made a threat of “violence” against her when referencing her tweet about the Supreme Court nominations.

- “This woman, Klan mom, is especially upset with the three Republican senators who said they’ll vote yes on Ketanji Brown Jackson, who’s nominated for the Supreme Court,” Kimmel said Tuesday. “She tweeted, ‘Murkowski, Collins and Romney are pro-pedophile. They just voted for KBJ.’ Wow, where is Will Smith when you really need him?”
- Responding to Greene’s announcement that she felt it was a “threat of violence,” Kimmel mocked her concern for safety in a tweet saying, “Officer? I would like to report a joke.”
- According to the UK Independent, a spokesperson for Rep. Greene’s office has confirmed that the congresswoman did create a report with Capitol Police.
- “Our office takes all threats of violence towards the Congresswoman very seriously…,” the spokesperson said. “Last night, Jimmy Kimmel called for violence to be committed against Congresswoman Greene. It will not be tolerated.”
BACKGROUND:
- Green’s statement about the Republican senators ruffled more than a few feathers with Texas Senator Ted Cruz going so far as to criticize her, saying that he thinks the accusation is “silly,” according to Yahoo News.
