A Florida man has been arrested after threatening to assassinate President Donald Trump.
Justin Blaxton, 34, made several threats against Trump on February 26 while repeatedly calling 911, the New York Post reports.
“I need a ride to the airport to be taken to The White House so I can assassinate the president,” Blazton told a dispatcher.
He also allegedly threatened to launch “missiles to destroy New York.”
In another phone call, Blaxton called himself a “Confederate soldier” looking to “get revenge.”
“My missiles are attracted to Donald Trump’s tower,” he said.
Former U.S. Secret Service agent Jason Russel told CBS 12 that Braxton’s phone calls suggest he is “mentally deranged.”
“Every threat is gonna get some level of attention. What really normally happens though is you’re looking at not necessarily the words that were said but a lot of the behaviors that might surround those words,” he said.
Others threatening to assassinate President Trump have been arrested in recent months.
In October, a transgender-identifying Democratic voter was arrested for threatening to shoot Trump. Paul J. Gavenonis, a 74-year-old man using female pronouns, reportedly made comments against Trump’s life while attempting to purchase a parking pass at Penn State University.
“I hate Donald Trump. I’d like to shoot that guy,” the Democrat reportedly said. Gavenonis later described climbing to the top of a building because “you can’t take a gun in, or the students will see it.”
In September, an Idaho man was charged with threatening to kill Trump. The man, Warren Jones Crazybull, said in one phone call to Mar-a-Lago, “Find Trump…I am coming down to Bedminster tomorrow. I am going to down him personally and kill him.”
