Wells Fargo, Target, Hewlett-Packard, and CitiBank have all sponsored the event.

QUICK FACTS:
  • The Boise Pride Festival is set to host an event involving cross-dressing 11-18-year-olds in a performance called “Drag Kids on Stage.”
  • Sponsors for the event include Wells Fargo, Target, Hewlett-Packard, and CitiBank in a performance that the event is advertising as “a drag show like none other.”
  • “Come and cheer them on as they bring drag to the younger generation,” the description reads.
  • The festival will also include a drag queen story hour and will host at least four different events with drag performers.
  • The event takes place Sept 9-11 and other sponsors include; T-Mobile, Zion Bank, the Blue Cross of Idaho, Gilead, Albertsons, and Intuit.

EXPERT ANALYSIS OF THE EVENT:
  • Christopher Rufo, a conservative activist and senior fellow at the Manhattan Institute, tweeted about the event saying that “drag shows involving children are explicitly designed to re-engineer child sexuality.
  • “As the academic queer theorists have explained, these performances are ‘site[s] of queer pleasure’ used to liberate children from ‘the rhetoric of childhood innocence,'” the activists and filmmaker went on.
  • “Parents should follow their intuition: it’s a huge red flag for adults to have young boys dress up as women and dance for tips,” Rufo said about the drag event, asserting that the push for children to become part of the LGBTQ movement is part of Radical Gender Theory.
BACKGROUND:
  • In the past, both Target and Wells Fargo have backed liberal activism in the past with the Target Foundation taking part in Race Forward, a George Soros-backed organization that intends to permanently ingrain Critical Race Theory (CRT) in the executive branch.
  • Customers can order credit cards with the pride flag or the transgender flag imprinted on them from Wells Fargo, which brags that they have participated in over 50 pride parades. Several pro-LGBT and pro-trans organizations have received funding from Wells Fargo.
