Candace Owens Under Fire—Macron Demands Silence

French President Emmanuel Macron and First Lady Brigitte Macron have filed a sweeping 218-page defamation lawsuit in Delaware Superior Court against conservative influencer and podcaster Candace Owens. The suit alleges Owens launched an eight-part podcast series—Becoming Brigitte—claiming Brigitte Macron was “born a man,” stole another person’s identity, and transitioned to female as part of a shocking campaign of conspiracy, incest, CIA mind-control intrigue, and character assassination.

The complaint outlines 22 counts against Owens, citing statements repeated after multiple retraction demands. The Macrons assert Owens “twisted their personal history into a grotesque narrative designed to inflame and degrade,” resulting in “relentless bullying on a worldwide scale” and “global humiliation.”

Owens’ accusations include claims that Brigitte Macron was Jean-Michel Trogneux before transitioning; that the Macrons are incestuous; that Emmanuel Macron is a CIA-mind-control creation; and that they committed fraud to conceal these alleged secrets.

The Macrons say they repeatedly offered Owens the chance to retract or engage in dialogue. She rejected such requests.

The lawsuit seeks unspecified compensatory and punitive damages, plus a jury trial. It positions this legal action as an assertion of truth against sensational lies, with Brigitte Macron appealing a French court’s recent reversal of her earlier libel victor.

Owens responded via her spokesperson, framing the suit as a threat to First Amendment protections, a foreign head of state “attacking the First Amendment rights of an American independent journalist.”
