Students from Palisades Charter Elementary School will attend Brentwood Science Magnet Elementary School, while students from Marquez Charter Elementary will relocate to Nora Sterry Elementary School.
If conditions remain stable or improve, LAUSD plans to resume outdoor activities such as physical education, athletics, recess, and lunch. Field trips are expected to resume by Thursday. Meal distribution services will continue daily from 9 a.m. to noon at Webster Middle School.
In the Santa Monica-Malibu Unified School District, all Santa Monica campuses have reopened, except for Roosevelt Elementary School, which resumed classes Tuesday. Malibu campuses, however, will remain closed until at least Wednesday.
Meanwhile, all schools in the Pasadena Unified School District will remain closed through Friday as officials continue to assess conditions.
LAUSD Superintendent Alberto Carvalho confirmed during a Sunday press conference that all schools were inspected and cleaned to ensure safety before reopening.
The district had closed all schools on Jan. 8 and 9 due to the wildfires, which have caused significant disruption across Los Angeles County. Paul Revere Middle School and other facilities in evacuation zones will stay closed until further notice.
Families are encouraged to check LAUSD communications for updates on closures and conditions in their specific areas.
