Left-Wing Journalist Suspended from Twitter by Elon Musk for Past ‘Doxxing’

On Saturday night, Taylor Lorenz, a far-left activist journalist for The Washington Post, was suspended from Twitter.

According to Elon Musk, the suspension was related to a “prior doxxing action,” which refers to the act of posting the personal information of anonymous individuals.

In a Substack post, Lorenz claimed that the Twitter CEO was directly involved in her suspension and asserted that she had not violated the platform’s terms of service.

Lorenz shared a video on TikTok in which she referred to Musk’s action as “super crazy” and stated that “Elon seems to be banning anyone who disagrees with him.”

Musk later responded, explaining that the suspension was due to previous actions rather than current tweets, and that it would be temporary.

Lorenz has faced criticism from conservatives after she herself doxxed owner of the right-wing Twitter account “Libs of TikTok,” known for mocking leftists on the TikTok app.

The New York Post reported at the time:

Taylor Lorenz, the Washington Post’s internet culture beat reporter, is being accused of “doxxing” the anonymous woman who operates the popular Twitter account “Libs of TikTok.”

Lorenz, the former New York Times journalist who earlier this month broke down in tears on MSNBC while recounting “harassment” she has experienced online, published an article on Tuesday revealing the identity of the social media user.

“Doxxing” is the term used to describe the act of posting the personal information of those who wish to remain anonymous.

Critics accused Lorenz of hypocrisy after it was claimed that she showed up at the home of the woman’s relatives to ask questions.
