Koch Network Group Spends $70 Million to Work Against Trump

A Koch network group, Americans for Prosperity Action, is spending $70 million in an effort to stop Trump from being successful in the 2024 presidential election.

Other groups in the Koch network include Stand Together, i360, the American Legislative Exchange Council, the State Policy Network, the CATO Institute, Americans for Tax Reform, the Competitive Enterprise Institute, the Atlas Network, the Heritage Foundation, the Independent Women’s Forum, the Manhattan Institute, the Reason Foundation, the Texas Public Policy Foundation, and others.

The group is involved in the Republican primaries for the first time in its history.

Americans for Prosperity Action was previously involved in the 2022 midterm elections, spending nearly $70 million between former Georgia Republican Senate candidate Herschel Walker, Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), and former Pennsylvania Republican Senate candidate Mehmet Oz.

The funds against Trump come in addition to $200 million from corporate backers to Republican Ron Desantis’ campaign.

The Koch network previously released ads against Trump, one featuring a voiceover saying, “What’s Biden’s secret weapon? Donald Trump as the GOP nominee. Biden wins the White House and gets the House and Senate, too.”

Reporting from The National Pulse:

“The globalist Koch Brothers, who have become a total joke in real Republican circles, are against Strong Borders and Powerful Trade,” Trump tweeted in 2018. “I never sought their support because I don’t need their money or bad ideas.”
