Ken Paxton Sues Biden Admin. Over Spending Bill

Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton stated he is filing a lawsuit against the Biden administration over the Consolidated Appropriations Act of 2023. Paxton claims the $1.7 trillion federal omnibus spending bill is unconstitutional as it was not approved by the House of Representatives. “Nowhere does the U.S. Constitution authorize the House to pass trillion-dollar bills when more than half the members are in their homes, vacationing, or are anywhere physically other than the United States Capitol Building,” said Paxton in a statement from his office.

From The Epoch Times:

The $1.7 trillion spending bill alters or establishes a variety of programs addressing a wide range of policy issues and includes 12 appropriation bills to fund agencies during the current fiscal year, including the Commerce, Justice, Science, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act; Department of the Interior, Environment, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act; and the Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies Appropriations Act.
