Kari Lake Confident and Closing In on Hobbs: ‘Wow. We’re Going to Win Big’

“Stay tuned Arizona,” Lake tweeted Wednesday.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Democrat Katie Hobbs’ lead over Republican Kari Lake continues to shrink in Arizona’s governor’s race, Arizona Republic reports.
  • Lake encouraged her Twitter followers on Wednesday, tweeting, “Wow. We’re going to win big. Stay tuned, Arizona!” and pointed to remaining handwritten ballots cast on election day and early drop-offs “all breaking BIGLY” for the former television news anchor.
  • Lake “carried 70% of votes cast statewide on Election Day, collapsing what once was a 14 percentage-point Hobbs lead among early voters to less than 1 percentage point as of Wednesday morning,” according to Arizona Republic. “The margin between the candidates was razor thin, with hundreds of thousands of ballots left to tally, meaning the counts and margins are likely to change — possibly significantly.”
  • Bill Gates, the Board of Supervisors Chairman, said about 400,000 votes remained uncounted and warned the majority of votes might not be counted until Friday.
LAKE NOT BACKING DOWN:
  • “Guess what? We are going to win this,” Lake told her cheering supporters Tuesday night. “I just want you to know: It’s early. It’s very early. And if we have to take this fight through we will.”
  • “The good news is: Every single drop of election ballots that have come in the last three drops have shown us up 85%, 87%, 81%,” she went on to say before denouncing the “propagandist” mainstream media for calling elections too early in favor of leftist politicians.
  • “When we win,” Lake continued, “[the] first line of action is to restore honesty to Arizona elections.”

BACKGROUND:
  • Kari Lake on Tuesday told reporters for left-wing media she would be their “worst fricking nightmare” for two terms should she win Arizona’s gubernatorial race.
  • The Donald Trump-backed candidate asked, “Are you new covering this race? Because we have talked about this before. I’ve answered this question. I am going to not only be the governor of Arizona for four years, I’m going to do two terms.”
  • “I’m going to be your worst fricking nightmare for eight years,” she promised. “And we will reform the media as well. We are going to make you guys into journalists again. So, get ready. It’s gonna be a fun eight years. I can’t wait to be working with you guys.”
