For Once Kamala the Word Salad Queen Doesn’t Mince the Message

Former vice president and failed 2024 democrat presidential nominee Kamala Harris lashed out at Democrat governors questioning Joe Biden’s cognitive decline, demanding loyalty with a vulgar outburst: “This is about saving our [expletive] democracy,” according to the new book 2024: How Trump Retook the White House and the Democrats Lost America. The pressure came just days after Biden’s widely panned June 27 debate performance, where he froze and slurred, even claiming, “I finally beat Medicare.”

Former vice president Harris’ profanity-laced plea appeared to work—at least on New York Gov. Kathy Hochul, who stood before reporters on July 3 and falsely declared that all governors had “pledged our support” to Biden. Authors Isaac Arnsdorf, Josh Dawsey, and Tyler Pager note that “many of the governors were deeply skeptical” and “furious with Hochul for suggesting otherwise.”

Hochul’s public loyalty contrasted with the silence of high-profile Democrat governors like Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer, and JB Pritzker—many of whom were considered potential replacements for Biden. Behind closed doors, even blue-state governors voiced alarm. Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham warned Biden could lose New Mexico, while Maine’s Gov. Janet Mills said her voters no longer believed he was fit to serve.

When asked directly about his condition by Hawaii’s Gov. Josh Green, a physician, Biden quipped, “It’s just my brain.” According to the authors, “not everyone found it funny.”

Harris’ response and lashing out at legitimate concerns shows the party’s desperation As the book reveals, she silenced dissent not with evidence, but with tired and tawdry expletive-ridden talking points.
