Kamala Harris Compares Jan 6 to 911 and Pearl Harbor

Kamala Harris compared three major dates in US history during a speech marking the one-year anniversary of the Capitol breach.

  • On the one-year anniversary of the Capitol breach, Kamala Harris signaled the enormity of January 6 by comparing it to 911 and Pearl Harbor.
  • “Certain dates echo throughout history, including dates that instantly remind all who have lived through them where they were, and what they were doing, when our democracy came under assault,” Harris said, adding, “Dates that occupy not only a place on our calendars, but a place in our collective memory: December 7th, 1941, September 11th, 2001, and January 6th, 2021.”
  • Harris remembered that day, describing how her staff was “converting filing cabinets into barricades” after she and other lawmakers were evacuated from the Senate and House chambers.
  • Jan 6 is the largest criminal investigation in the history of the FBI, according to Steve Bannon’s War Room.

“We are approaching a solemn anniversary this week. And it is an anniversary of a violent terrorist attack on the Capitol, where we saw the men and women of law enforcement demonstrate incredible courage, incredible bravery, risk their lives for the Capitol,” Cruz said at a Senate Rules Committee oversight hearing Wednesday with Capitol Police Chief Tom Manger discussing Jan. 6 security failures.

  • According to MSN, “FBI, confirms there was no insurrection that took place on Jan 6.”
  • Investigative reporter, Julie Kelly, who has been closely following the cases, said no one has been charged with terrorism, sedition, or insurrection, though many are still in jail awaiting due process.
  • AG Garland says “the actions we have taken thus far” on January 6 rioters “will not be our last.”
