Kamala Harris Accepts CNN’s Invitation to Debate Donald Trump

Vice President Kamala Harris has accepted CNN’s invitation to debate former President Donald Trump on October 23, according to her campaign.

Harris’s campaign chair, Jen O’Malley Dillon, said Harris is ready for the debate, suggesting Trump should have no issue agreeing to it, as it follows the same format as a previous CNN debate he attended and claimed to have won in June.

The Washington Times reached out to Trump’s campaign to confirm his participation. Should Trump agree, this would be the second time he and Harris debate following an ABC-moderated debate earlier this month. After that event, Trump stated he wouldn’t participate in another debate.

The previous CNN debate in June marked a pivotal moment, with President Biden bowing out of his re-election bid, handing the Democratic nomination to Harris. The upcoming debate will not include a live audience, and both candidates will face questions from moderators for 90 minutes.

CNN has expressed that the debate would provide the American public with a valuable opportunity to hear from both presidential candidates as they approach their final decision.
