Judge Ends Lawsuit Against White House Ballroom

A federal judge declined to put a stop to President Trump’s White House ballroom, stating that a lawsuit against it does not adequately challenge its construction.

“I have no choice but to deny Plaintiff’s motion for a preliminary injunction for lack of likelihood of success on the merits,” U.S. District Judge Richard Leon wrote, as per The Hill.

President Trump celebrated the decision.

“Great news for America, and our wonderful White House! The Judge on the case of what will be the most beautiful Ballroom anywhere in the World, has just thrown out, and completely erased, the effort to stop its construction,” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “As everyone knows, not one dollar of Taxpayer money is being spent, but rather, all money necessary to build this magnificent building is being put up by Patriot Donors and Contributors. The Ballroom construction, which is anticipated to also handle future Inaugurations and large State Visits, is ahead of schedule, and under budget. It will stand long into the future as a symbol to the Greatness of America!”

The lawsuit, filed by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, argued that a president is not “legally allowed to tear down portions of the White House without any review whatsoever — not President Trump, not President Biden, and not anyone else.”

President Trump asked of the lawsuit, “Why didn’t these obstructionists and troublemakers bring their baseless lawsuit much earlier? Congress never tried, or wanted, to stop the Ballroom Project! Everyone knew what was taking place at the White House — A great, big, beautiful gift to the United States of America!”
