Former White House National Security Adviser John Bolton announced on Friday his potential plans to run for president in 2024.
He told “Good Morning Britain” that he is confident he can defeat his former boss, President Donald Trump, in the race for the Republican nomination due to Trump’s decreasing support within the party.
Bolton emphasized his desire to win the nomination and implement a stronger foreign policy, stating, “I wouldn’t run as a vanity candidate. If I didn’t think I could run seriously then I wouldn’t get in the race.”
He also expressed his intention to oppose Trump, who has previously called him “a liar,” “a dope,” and “a disgruntled boring fool.”
The former national security adviser was fired by Trump in 2019 after disagreements over issues such as North Korea and Afghanistan.
