Joe Biden Reportedly ‘Regrets’ His Decision to Withdraw From 2024 Presidential Race

Reports suggest that Joe Biden privately regrets his decision to withdraw from the 2024 presidential race and believes he could have defeated Donald Trump in a rematch. These sentiments, reportedly shared with close confidants, come after Trump emerged as the projected winner of the 2024 election. Biden, who cited age and health concerns as factors in his withdrawal, has not publicly commented on these claims.

“Joe Biden regrets having pulled out of this year’s presidential race and believes he would have defeated Donald Trump in last month’s election – despite negative poll indications, White House sources have said,” The Guardian reported.

Also according to The Guardian, Biden regrets appointing Merrick Garland as Attorney General because he allowed the DOJ to prosecute Hunter Biden.

“The US president has reportedly also said he made a mistake in choosing Merrick Garland as attorney general – reflecting that Garland, a former US appeals court judge, was slow to prosecute Donald Trump for his role in the 6 January 2021 insurrection while presiding over a justice department that aggressively prosecuted Biden’s son Hunter,” The Guardian reported.

Earlier this month, Biden was ranked as the worst modern president.

An exclusive poll conducted by JL Partners and reported by The Daily Mail found that voters perceive Biden less favorably than Jimmy Carter.

“When 1006 registered voters were asked to rank the last nine presidents in order, from best to worst, Biden came at the very bottom of the table, making him the worst in 47 years,” Daily Mail reported. “Some 44 percent placed him as one of the worst two, while only 14 percent placed him in the top two, giving him a net score of 30 points underwater.”

James Johnson, cofounder of J.L. Partners, called the results “diabolical.”

“There’s always a recency bias and as Joe Biden is the incumbent, he starts off at a disadvantage there,” he said. “But regardless of that, these numbers are worse than I expected.”

He noted that voters have “obviously looked at his age, general conduct in office, his botched withdrawal from Afghanistan, the situation at the southern border, and decided that, in their view, it qualifies him to be the worst president in modern history.” Johnson went on to say that this is the “position in which he leaves office. From the man who beat Trump to the man who let him back in, and who voters feel has been fundamentally a bad president.”

A May poll revealed that only 36% of Americans approve of Biden’s performance as president, down from 38% in April. The poll tied with his lowest approval rating from July 2022.
