Jill Biden Announces Final Class at Northern Virginia Community College

First Lady Jill Biden recently announced that she has taught her last class at Northern Virginia Community College. “Last Thursday I taught my last class of the semester and my final class ever at Northern Virginia Community College,” she said in a message to educators. Flanked by American Federation of Teachers President Randi Weingarten and National Education Association President Becky Pringle, Biden delivered her remarks signaling a potential end to her teaching career.

A spokesperson for the First Lady told Fox News Digital that it remains unclear if she will continue teaching elsewhere. Jill Biden has served as an English and writing professor at the institution since 2009, according to her White House biography. She made history as the first presidential spouse to maintain an independent career while serving in the White House.

The announcement comes as Jill Biden and President Joe Biden prepare to leave the White House next month. The unusual 2024 presidential election saw President Biden withdraw from his re-election campaign despite securing enough primary wins to become the Democratic Party’s presumptive nominee. Following a widely criticized debate performance and pressure from within his own party, Biden endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

President-elect Donald Trump ultimately defeated Harris in the general election, winning both the Electoral College and the popular vote. This victory makes Trump the second U.S. president in history to serve two non-consecutive terms, following President Grover Cleveland in the 19th century.
