Vice President JD Vance and his family were relocated to an undisclosed location after facing a hostile group of pro-Ukrainian protesters outside a ski resort in Vermont. The Vance family had been skiing at Sugarbush Resort in Vermont when they were confronted by demonstrators who carried signs accusing the vice president of being a “traitor” and calling him “Nazi scum.”
The protesters were apparently incensed by Vance’s outspoken stance on the ongoing conflict between Ukraine and Russia.
As tensions escalated, Vance and his family were moved to a safer area, avoiding further confrontation. A witness reported that one skier referred to the protesters as “morons” in response to the disruption.
The incident occurred just one day after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky’s controversial visit to the White House, where Vance and other officials, including President Trump, strongly criticized his handling of the war with Russia.
During the Oval Office meeting, Vance did not hold back, telling Zelensky that his actions had been disrespectful and reminding him of the immense support the United States has already provided Ukraine.
“You should be thanking the president for trying to bring an end to this conflict,” Vance remarked. President Trump also added his own criticism, stating that Ukraine would not be in the position it is today without American military aid.
Zelensky left the meeting without agreeing to a key deal on rare earth minerals, further fueling the tension. Trump later made it clear that Zelensky could return to discuss peace only when he was ready to negotiate in earnest.
