Jake Tapper Admits: ‘Conservative Media Was Right’ About Biden’s Decline

CNN anchor Jake Tapper has acknowledged that conservative media outlets were correct in their early reporting on President Joe Biden’s cognitive decline. In a recent interview with Sirius XM host Megyn Kelly, Tapper conceded that he and other mainstream journalists failed to adequately cover the issue, stating, “Conservative media was right and conservative media was correct.”

Tapper’s admission comes amid the release of his new book, “Original Sin,” co-authored with Axios reporter Alex Thompson. The book details Biden’s mental and physical deterioration during his presidency and the efforts by his inner circle to conceal it from the public.

During the interview, Kelly criticized Tapper for not addressing the issue sooner, noting that conservative media had been reporting on Biden’s decline for years. She pointed out that signs such as Biden’s reliance on teleprompters and edited videos were evident, yet largely ignored by mainstream outlets.

Tapper responded by acknowledging the shortcomings in media coverage, stating that there should be “a lot of soul-searching” among legacy media for their failure to report on Biden’s condition. He also admitted to apologizing to Lara Trump for previously dismissing her concerns about Biden’s cognitive health during a 2020 CNN interview.

The revelations in “Original Sin” have sparked controversy, with critics accusing Tapper of attempting to rewrite history and profit from a narrative he once downplayed. The book alleges that Biden’s aides considered using a wheelchair for him during a potential second term and that his inner circle actively suppressed information about his health.

Tapper’s recent admissions highlight the ongoing debate over media bias and the responsibility of journalists to report objectively, regardless of political affiliation.
