Israel Puts Hamas on Notice After Peace Deadline Passes

A top advisor to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday that Israel and the Trump-backed Board of Peace are ready to act against Hamas after the group missed a weapons handover deadline and remains out of compliance with the Gaza peace framework.

Michael Eisenberg, speaking to Fox News, said Hamas has refused to give up its weapons as required under the 20-point plan that ended the war with Israel last October. An April 11 deadline for Hamas to accept the disarmament schedule came and went with no agreement.

“All the options are on the table,” Eisenberg said. “Hamas is noncompliant with the 20-point plan, and they haven’t delivered their weapons like they were supposed to.”

He said Trump had given Hamas a clear choice: take the deal, or face the alternative. “Everyone prefers the easy way,” Eisenberg said. “But if they won’t comply, there’s a hard way too.”

The Board of Peace, which held its inaugural session in Washington this week, has signaled it will not enforce the ceasefire against Israel if Hamas won’t accept the disarmament terms, according to reporting by the Times of Israel.

The first meeting drew representatives from more than 40 countries. Participating nations have pledged $5 billion for Gaza’s reconstruction. Indonesia committed troops to a planned international stabilization force. Italy said it will help train a future Gaza police force.

White House spokesperson Anna Kelly said the gathering marked “a major announcement on Board of Peace actions aimed at establishing enduring peace in the Middle East.”

Eisenberg praised the administration’s preparation. “Give President Trump a tremendous amount of credit. They’ve literally thought through every stage of this from beginning to end,” he said.

The plan also requires Iran to give up control over Gaza. Eisenberg said Hamas members can stay in Gaza only if they fully disarm and exit governance. “They cannot be a part of government. They cannot bear arms. They have to become Swedish, basically,” he said.
