ISIS Claims Responsibility for Deadly Russian Attack

ISIS has claimed responsibility for an attack at a large concert hall in Russia that left more than 60 people dead and nearly 150 injured on Friday.

The attack started when gunmen wearing combat gear opened fire in Crocus City Hall and threw explosives inside the concert hall, which set the building on fire, according to Russian media.

The Islamic State took responsibility for the attack on its affiliated social media channels, and the U.S. has said it has intelligence confirming the claim.

Russian officials initially claimed the incident was being investigated as a terrorist attack but didn’t name who was responsible.
