Iranians Killed in Explosion During Ceremony for Iran General Killed in 2020

Two explosions occurred near a commemoration ceremony for Iranian military commander Qassem Soleimani killed in 2020.

The explosions killed at least 103 people and injured 141 individuals.

“The Palestinian Islamic Jihad Movement condemns, in the strongest terms, the treacherous bombing in the Iranian city of Kerman, targeting the crowds of citizens gathered around the tomb of the martyr leader Hajj Qassem Soleimani, may Allah have mercy on him,” leaders reportedly said in a statement shared on X.

“The movement affirms that this sinful aggression against the innocent will increase the solidarity of the peoples of our nation around the resistance, of which the martyr Soleimani will remain one of its symbols,” the statement added.

According to the Associated Press, Iran has several adversaries who may be behind the attack, including “exile groups, militant organizations and state actors.”

Soleimani was killed in a 2020 drone strike under the Trump administration.

Soleimani led the Quds Force, a military group considered by the U.S. to be a terrorist organization, the Daily Wire noted.
