Iranian Leader Calls For Emergency Meetings After Israel Strikes Nasrallah

Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei held emergency meetings late Friday after Israel launched a powerful airstrike targeting Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah at an underground compound in Beirut.

Initial Israeli intelligence suggests Nasrallah and several top Hezbollah and Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps officials may have been killed, though confirmation is pending.

The strike follows escalating tensions, including the July assassination of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh in Tehran.

Iran is pushing for an emergency session of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation in response to the attack.
