Iran Submits Latest Peace Proposal

Iran’s latest peace proposal includes ending conflicts on all fronts, lifting the U.S. naval blockade, and demanding reparations from the U.S., reports indicate.

According to the Iranian state media outlet IRNA, the proposal involves Iran’s “insistence on its right to uranium enrichment and peaceful nuclear activities, an end to conflicts across all fronts including Lebanon, the lifting of the US naval blockade, the release of Iranian assets, compensation by the United States for damage caused during the latest war to support reconstruction efforts, the removal of all unilateral sanctions and UN Security Council resolutions, and the withdrawal of US forces from areas surrounding the Islamic Republic.”

The peace proposal follows President Trump announcing that the United States would “hold off on our planned Military attack of the Islamic Republic of Iran, which was scheduled for tomorrow, in that serious negotiations are now taking place, and that, in their opinion, as Great Leaders and Allies, a Deal will be made, which will be very acceptable to the United States of America, as well as all Countries in the Middle East, and beyond.”

“This Deal will include, importantly, NO NUCLEAR WEAPONS FOR IRAN!” he declared.

President Trump told reporters on May 19 that he would give Iran “two or three days” to come up with a deal. “I didn’t tell them. I never tell anybody when. I never tell anybody when, but they knew that we were very close,” the president said, discussing his decision to call off strikes. “I was an hour away from making the decision to go today, and we would probably not be talking about a beautiful ballroom today, we’d be talking about that.”

He added that he would give Iran “two or three days, maybe Friday, Saturday, Sunday, something, maybe early next week, a limited period of time,” to form a deal.
