Internal Document Reveals Beyond Meat Factory Contaminated With Mold

A former employee of a Beyond Meat factory released an internal document stating the factory tested positive for the bacteria Listeria eleven times throughout 2021 and 2022. The report noted various contaminants had been found in products from the Pennsylvania plant last December, two other employees confirming the information. A representative for the company stated the Pennsylvania Department of Agriculture had “found no instances of nonconformance with regulations.”

From New York Post:

The representative added that Beyond Meat’s safety standards “go above and beyond industry and regulatory standards” – though the comment did not comment on the specific details from the leaked document.

“External third-party audits, including our most recent third-party audit in May 2022, gave the plant the highest-possible rating in each of the last three years,” the spokesperson said.
