Illegal Immigrants Seen Scaling Border Wall in Arizona (Video)

The illegal crossers used ropes and wore camouflage.

QUICK FACTS:
  • Fox News reporter Bill Melugin uploaded a video to Twitter on Tuesday showing dozens of migrants scaling a United States border wall in Arizona, uninhibited by law enforcement.
  • The reporter indicated that footage from the wall showed dozens of immigrants scaling the wall in the span of about 45 minutes.
  • The video was filmed in Naco, AZ, which is part of the Tuscon, AZ sector, which reportedly has the most “gotaways” of any border sector in the 2022 fiscal year.
  • An estimated 160,000 migrants have crossed the border in the Tuscon sector, moving into the interior of the country.
DETAILS FROM THE EVENT:
  • A Department of Homeland Security official told journalists that the man who can be seen on his phone at the top of the wall is a human smuggler.
  • The smuggler has reportedly told journalists that he brings illegal immigrants to the border every morning.
  • “The Border Patrol union…tells me this is what happens when so many agents are pulled off front line field patrol to do administrative/processing duties instead, and when the few agents who are on patrol are already occupied tracking down/chasing other groups,” Melugin concluded.
BACKGROUND:
  • This video comes on the heels of Vice President Kamala Harris’ interview with NBC’s Chuck Todd on “Meet the Press” where she claimed that the border is “secure, but we also have a broken immigration system, in particular, over the last four years before we came in, and it needs to be fixed.”
  • Previous reports indicate that just since Joe Biden took office, illegal immigration has cost taxpayers $20+ billion a year.
