An illegal immigrant has been accused of murdering his own two children in a small Wisconsin town last week.
29-year-old Victor Manuel Gomez Acosta was arrested last week over the killings and the stabbing of his wife in Abbotsford.
Law enforcement said that he stabbed the children to death and attacked his wife while she was sleeping.
Gomez Acosta faces two charges of first-degree intentional homicide and one charge of attempted homicide and is being held on $1 million bail.
The illegal immigrant had previously been arrested for driving while intoxicated or being impaired.
Earlier this month, authorities announced the suspect in a deadly DUI hit-and-run that killed a 22-year-old in New Mexico was also an illegal alien.
ICE confirmed that 21-year-old Jesus Sandoval-Martinez was arrested and charged with two counts of vehicular homicide, reckless driving and leaving an accident resulting in great bodily harm or death.
Sandoval-Martinez was allegedly drunk when his Dodge pickup truck collided with a Tesla and a Toyota Corolla at an intersection in Albuquerque.
Law enforcement confirmed the migrant ran a red light that resulted in the death of the driver of the Tesla, identified as 22-year-old Tiger Gutierrez.
In April 2024, a Honduran immigrant who had been living in the United States illegally was released into the community after he had been arrested for sexually assaulting a minor, ICE reported.
Immigration and Customs Enforcement released a statement stating the capture of a 26-year-old male from Honduras and told local communities of his potential threat to society.
“This is a disturbing example of how non-cooperative jurisdictions can pose a significant threat to communities in our region,” said Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons. “Despite the presence of an immigration detainer, local authorities released an alleged sexual predator onto the streets of a Connecticut neighborhood.”
