Illegal Alien Charged in Shocking Child Crime Case

A 29-year-old illegal alien from El Salvador, Manuel Umana Solorzano, is facing serious charges in Massachusetts, including multiple counts involving child endangerment and abuse. Following his arrest by the Milford Police Department and U.S. Marshals, Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detainer request to assume custody.

Solorzano faces charges that include rape of a child with force, statutory rape involving a significant age difference, indecent assault on a child under 14, and possession of illegal images. Authorities also charged him with resisting arrest and reckless endangerment of a minor.

ICE’s involvement underscores the growing concerns around sanctuary policies in states like Massachusetts. These policies often prevent local law enforcement from cooperating with federal immigration authorities. ICE officials emphasized that without federal custody, Solorzano could be released back into the public despite the severity of the accusations against him.

Homeland Security’s Tricia McLaughlin stated that sanctuary policies are contributing to a pattern of releasing individuals accused of violent offenses, including child exploitation, back into American communities. She added that the Trump administration is committed to using every available tool to remove such individuals and protect families.

Solorzano reportedly entered the U.S. illegally, with no record of apprehension at the border, placing him among the growing category of “got-aways” who evade Border Patrol detection. His case highlights the broader challenge of identifying and tracking illegal border crossers who later face criminal charges.

Massachusetts officials have yet to comment on whether they will honor ICE’s detainer request. The case places further pressure on sanctuary jurisdictions to reconsider their policies in light of public safety concerns.
