ICE will maintain its enforcement operations even after recent coordinated ambush attacks on its agents in Alvarado, Texas, Border Czar Tom Homan said. Speaking on Fox News’s The Story, Homan cautioned that escalating rhetoric comparing agents to terrorists and Nazis has emboldened fringe groups to take violent action. He warned bluntly: “we’re not going to stop enforcing immigration law,” even if future confrontations risk fatalities.
Homan linked the violence to inflammatory comments from lawmakers like Rep. Jayapal, who have labeled ICE agents as terrorists. He said that rhetoric “gives license” to attackers and pledged that ICE will continue deporting illegal aliens, regardless of threats from such vigilante-style violence.
Federal authorities have charged ten individuals for their roles in the Texas ambush. Homan predicted more attacks unless public and political leaders curb their rhetoric. He emphasized that enforcement will proceed and that ICE agents are prepared to face the consequences—including potential use of force—rather than retreat from their duties.
