Ice Cream Shop to Give Free Ice Cream in July to Kids Who Recite The Pledge of Allegiance

An ice cream shop in Massachusetts is offering free ice cream to children 12 and under during the month of July for reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.

According to reports, the owner of the shop, Eskimo King, is “big on patriotism.”

“Our theme always is pretty much red, white, and blue,” one employee said. “Our boss is big on patriotism. July is the busiest.”

A few years ago, the shop made the entire menu patriotic.

“It’s fun to see them of all ages, especially the younger kids because they get nervous when they’re trying to recite it and sometimes they have an older sibling guiding them along,” another employee said.

The employees said that dozens of children have shown up to show their love for the country.

“You can tell they’re happy with themselves. They’re proud. I think it’s really nice to keep patriotism alive in America. I know one of the reasons the owner wants to keep this going after all these years is because she believes in being proud to be an American,” the employee continued.

The store’s prompting has encouraged other ice cream shops around the country to do the same.
