ICE Reveals 70% of Arrests Target Criminal Aliens in ‘Worst of the Worst’ Crackdown

U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) released a new statistic showing that 70% of its arrests involve criminal illegal aliens, as agents carried out a nationwide sweep over Halloween weekend. The criminal illegal aliens operation targeted violent offenders, including individuals convicted of child exploitation, kidnapping, homicide, and major drug trafficking crimes.

According to the Department of Homeland Security, ICE officers arrested dozens of dangerous offenders across multiple states. Among them was Sisawang Khambounheuang of Laos, convicted of unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor in San Diego, and Milton Rene Mendez-Arevalo of Guatemala, convicted of kidnapping in Los Angeles. In Houston alone, ICE agents arrested more than 120 illegal immigrants, including Hector Eugenio Ramirez-Martinez, convicted of indecency with a child, and Francisco Nava-Garcia, convicted of assault on a family member.

ICE also apprehended offenders in other states, including Kunal Chhetri of India, convicted of alien smuggling in Texas; Lazaro Mateo Ruiz of Cuba, convicted of homicide and robbery in Miami-Dade County; and Juan Gomez-Gutierrez of Colombia, convicted of cocaine trafficking in Tampa.

DHS Assistant Secretary Tricia McLaughlin praised the agency’s efforts, emphasizing that “President Trump and Secretary Noem unleashed ICE to remove the worst of the worst criminal illegal aliens from American communities.” She added, “Despite the Democrats’ government shutdown, ICE is continuing to arrest criminal illegal aliens across the country. While Americans enjoyed their weekends, ICE was hard at work getting the worst of the worst off our streets—including pedophiles, murderers, and kidnappers.”

The criminal illegal aliens crackdown reflects the administration’s ongoing push to prioritize the removal of violent offenders, even as sanctuary jurisdictions resist federal cooperation.
