Hundreds of Thousands of Cows to Be Slaughtered for the Sake of Climate Targets

Up to 200,000 cows in Ireland may be slaughtered by 2025 for the country’s farming sector to meet climate targets, a 25% reduction in agricultural pollution.

The total cost of the move would cost €600 million.

By 2030, the government plans to “displace” 10% of all Ireland livestock in order to reach its overall goal of a 51% total reduction in carbon emissions.
