House Speaker McCarthy Raises Calls for Impeaching Biden (Watch)

House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R), during a discussion on Fox News Channel’s “Hannity,” for the first time raised the subject of impeaching President Biden.

He referred to the mounting allegations of foreign corruption involving the President and his son, Hunter Biden.

McCarthy highlighted that this issue is swiftly becoming a matter warranting an “impeachment inquiry.”

In the course of his discussion with host Sean Hannity, McCarthy focused on the claims surrounding the Biden family’s alleged use of shell companies for foreign fund transfers.

Furthermore, he mentioned the FBI’s FD-1023 document, which contains details of foreign businessmen accusing the Bidens of accepting bribes.

McCarthy asserted, “This is rising to the level of impeachment inquiry.”

Drawing parallels with a significant historical precedent, he highlighted a significant comparison.

“This president also has used something we have not seen since Richard Nixon,” the speaker said, adding that Biden “used the weaponization of government to benefit his family and deny Congress the ability to have the oversight.”

President Richard Nixon had resigned amid allegations of corruption and abuse of power.

Furthermore, McCarthy, who has not publicly suggested impeaching Biden before, seemed confident about pursuing the matter to its ultimate conclusion.

“I believe we will follow this all the way to the end and this is going to rise to an impeachment inquiry the way the Constitution tells us to do it,” he said.

Until now, suggestions to impeach President Biden had come primarily from less influential members of the Republican party, not its legislative leadership.

McCarthy’s statement hence marks a significant escalation.

He also pointed out the puzzling nature of the countries from which the Bidens were alleged to have accepted money.

“If they really ran [their business] for foreign countries, why didn’t they get money from France, from Germany, from the U.K.,” he asked, instead noting the funds had come from contentious sources such as China and corruption-prone Eastern European nations.

In addition, McCarthy brought attention to the claims by “some of the most credible whistleblowers” from the IRS, who argue that the Hunter Biden tax case is a clear illustration of political protection.
