House Republicans Have Another Record-Breaking Fundraising Quarter

(RSBN) House Republicans raised a record-breaking amount of money in the second quarter of 2022, boosting momentum in the upcoming midterm elections.

According to The Hill, the National Republican Congressional Committee (NRCC) raised more than $34 million between April and June. The NRCC raised a massive $16.5 million in June alone, providing a solid transition to the third quarter.

Currently, the NRCC has $109 million available to spend, The Hill reported. However, Democrats also had a strong quarter of fundraising, setting the stage for a competitive midterm election cycle.

According to Axios, of the $215 million fundraising total for this cycle, “A huge chunk came from House Republican leadership: nearly $50 million from Leader Kevin McCarthy, more than $20 million from Whip Steve Scalise and $2.4 million from conference chair Elise Stefanik, according to the NRCC.”

Rep. Elise Stefanik, R-N.Y., shared the news of the record-breaking fundraising numbers on Twitter. “The NRCC had a record-breaking fundraising haul last month,” the congresswoman wrote. “Republicans will have the resources we need to earn back control of the House this November and help Save America!”

As the nation struggles under the Biden administration, Republicans’ focus is on building voter enthusiasm.

With inflation at a staggering nine percent, Republicans have made the economy a central component of their midterm messaging. Meanwhile, Democrats have focused their messaging on the Supreme Court’s overturning of Roe v. Wade.

Commenting on the driving force behind the GOP’s record fundraising numbers, Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Minn., the NRCC chairman, explained that Americans know that the change they want to see can only come from electing more Republicans.

“Americans recognize that to curb inflation, secure our borders and stem the violent crime terrorizing our communities, we need to elect a Republican majority to the U.S. House of Representatives,” Emmer said, according to The Hill. “GOP momentum continues to build, and we have a record amount of resources ready to prosecute the case against every vulnerable Democrat in the country.”
