Democrat Rep. Bill Foster of Illinois introduced the End the Threat of Default Act that removes the $31.381 trillion limit on how much the Treasury can borrow. 42 Democrats co-sponsored the bill. Senator Joe Manchin (D-WV) said the Biden administration’s lack of negotiation with Republicans on the matter is a “mistake.”

Hermann Center for the Federal Budget at The Heritage Foundation. “Repealing the debt limit would simply give a blank check, with your name at the bottom, to the woke left-wing establishment that is trying to dismantle our nation.”
