Tom Homan Warns ICE Leakers Could Face Arrest

Border czar Tom Homan issued a strong warning Thursday, stating that individuals who leak information about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids “might find themselves in handcuffs.” Speaking with Fox News host Harris Faulkner, Homan emphasized the serious consequences of obstructing law enforcement operations aimed at detaining illegal immigrants with criminal records.

Since taking office on January 20, President Donald Trump has signed multiple executive orders targeting illegal immigration, including:

Declaring Mexican drug cartels foreign terrorist organizations
Declaring a national emergency at the southern border
Reinstating aggressive ICE enforcement policies

Homan highlighted efforts to combat leaks that have compromised ICE operations.

“I’m working very closely with the Department of Justice (DOJ) to determine where these leaks cross the line into illegal interference,” Homan said. “They may find themselves in handcuffs soon. We’re not going to tolerate it anymore. This is not a game.”

Homan’s remarks followed an ICE operation in Aurora, Colorado, targeting Tren de Aragua gang members who had taken over an apartment complex. The mission aimed to apprehend over 100 gang members, but only one arrest was made after law enforcement’s plans were leaked to the media.

Fox News reporter Bill Melugin reported that protesters using bullhorns gathered ahead of the operation, taunting agents after media outlets exposed the planned raid. Melugin described the effort as “compromised from the very beginning.”

Homan stressed that such leaks endanger law enforcement officers and illegal immigrants alike, stating:

“To have this type of interference puts our officers at great risk. It also puts the aliens at risk, because anything can happen when we take our eyes off the goal. We’re addressing this immediately. We’ve identified how this operation got leaked, and I will deal with that today.”

Homan confirmed that he is investigating operational security (OPSEC) failures and pledged to hold those responsible accountable.

“We have serious OPSEC concerns right now. The leak will be identified today, and we’ll deal with that,” Homan said. “To those who think this is a joke, it is serious business, and they need to stop—or we’ll prosecute them through the Department of Justice.

New Jersey Democratic Governor Phil Murphy recently dared ICE to arrest an illegal immigrant reportedly living in an apartment over his garage. Homan responded forcefully, warning Murphy that he could face legal consequences for obstructing immigration enforcement.

Trump has pledged to launch a large-scale deportation effort targeting criminal illegal immigrants. Since reinstating his immigration policies, ICE has arrested hundreds of illegal immigrants charged with crimes such as:

🔹 Terrorism
🔹 Sexual assault
🔹 Aggravated assault

These efforts come after Trump rescinded executive orders issued by Joe Biden in 2021, which had weakened ICE’s ability to detain and deport illegal immigrants.

With ICE raids ramping up and DOJ backing enforcement efforts, the Trump administration is making it clear: those who obstruct immigration operations could face prosecution.
