Harris Hones In On The ‘Blue Wall’ In Final Campaign Stretch

Kamala Harris is ramping up her campaign efforts before the 2024 election, focusing on the critical battleground states of Michigan, Pennsylvania, and Wisconsin. These states, part of the so-called “blue wall,” are vital to the Democratic Party’s strategy, particularly as polls show increasing competitiveness in these regions.

These three states have voted in unison in every election since 1988. While trends are meant to be broken, the Harris campaign is not taking its chances as it seeks to secure these battleground states so close to the election.

North Carolina has begun to “slip away” from the Harris campaign, with early voting already taking place. Without North Carolina in her back pocket, Harris will need to find a new path to 270 to win on November 5th, making the blue wall all the more valuable.

Dan Kanninen, the Harris battleground state director, said, “I don’t see a blue wall path or a Sun Belt path or a Southern path. I see seven states that are as close as it gets that will all be decided by margins on the ground. And, truthfully, one of the seven has as good a chance as any other to be the tipping-point state.”

Harris’s campaign strategy includes participating in town halls and community events, allowing her to connect with voters on a personal level.

As the election approaches, Harris’s proactive strategy signals a commitment to defending the Democratic base in these pivotal states. By prioritizing community engagement and emphasizing the administration’s successes, she aims to fortify the party’s coalition in a shifting political landscape.
